About Pakistan Army FF Regiment (Introduction)
In November 1971, 31 FF was established as Pakistan’s first national service battalion. It trained 1049 national servicemen under the National Service Scheme with the assistance of a PIFFER commanding officer, certain PIFFER officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, and Soldiers. One of the Pakistan Army’s six infantry regiments is the Frontier Force Regiment. Referring to their military past as the PIF (Punjab Irregular Force) of the British Indian Army, or as the FF, they are commonly known as the Piffers (Frontier Force).
