About Ministry of Water Resources (Introduction)
The need for the best possible development of water resources cannot be understated in a nation like Pakistan where agriculture continues to make up the majority of the national economy and industrial growth is given increasing priority. In support of the aforementioned goal, Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the former prime minister of Pakistan, established the Ministry of Water Resources on August 4, 2017, dissolving the Ministry of Water & Power and merging the Water Division into the new Ministry of Water Resources while converting the Power Division into the Ministry of Energy. The former Water Wing of the Ministry of Water and Power was transformed into the Ministry historically.
