The Punjab Regiment is the Pakistan Army’s oldest, largest, and most distinguished Regiment. The 1st, 14th, 15th, and 16th Punjab Regiment groups each of which had six, four, and five battalions, respectively were combined to form the Regiment on May 7, 1956, giving it its current structure.
