About Water and Sanitation Agency WASA Faisalabad (Introduction)
One of WASA Faisalabad’s main responsibilities is to supply safe and healthy water. Unfortunately, the city of Faisalabad’s groundwater is quite salty and not fit for human consumption. The population have access to a finite amount of drinkable water from several limited resources. Since there are no suitable sources of sweet water, WASA Faisalabad must pump and transport the sweet water from the city district (Chiniot), where there is a plentiful supply of drinking water. WASA Faisalabad now uses 29 tube wells to collect 56 million gallons of water per day (MGD) from the Chiniot Well-Field Area near the Chenab River.
